eps(expandable polystyrene)/eps granules/eps foam raw material
EPS foam is a highly durable material that is used in a large number of consumer products. EPS stands for Expandable Polystyrene. This expanding foam compound is an excellent insulating material. It is used in refrigerators, coolers, helmets and many other products that are used every day. The large number of uses for EPS foam creates a high demand that makes this a very profitable business to be part of. If you have a manufacturing background, it is entirely possible to make EPS foam products yourself.
What Is Expanded Polystyrene Insulation?
Expanded polystyrene insulation is one of a few types of polystyrene insulation. The other primary type is known as extruded polystyrene insulation and is manufactured under a different process. Expanded polystyrene insulation is a closed-cell foam that is available in many forms and is one of many efficient options you have when insulating a building.
Polystyrene
All insulating products are assigned a value that indicates how effectively they insulate. This is known as an R-value. Expanded polystyrene insulation has an R-value that is approximately 4.0 per inch. This means that per inch, it is a more effective insulator than other products such as blown-in cellulose insulation. A higher R-factor means lower energy costs and a greener house. Another reason that EPS insulation is used is because it doesn't degrade over time. The insulation doesn't settle out like loose products or droop over time like batt insulation might. The R-value stays the same for as long as the product is in place.
